Default Hey guys, how's things?

Been away for half a year, I've been waiting on the SF nerf to get back and this week I have some free time for GW.

So how's the mood on the Temple of Ages? Now that the sin population probably went to hell how are people taking it and how's the UW beeing done, good ol' balanceway or something? Or the old tank n' spank? Or what? From what I gathered FoW is kinda the same but UW has been all about SF for a year now.

The SF nerf actually didnt hurt that bad. ToA still active, though I hardly see any UW groups and from what I know there is no "Thee UW Build" yet. Ecto is highly unstable, part of it instability is due to ppl trying to get rid of it fast cuz they see price dropping which makes the price drop more, buts its floating 7.5-9k trader buy price. Other than the ToA scene, DoA seems to be more active and ppl trying to get the faction farming team builds rolling.

The only dungeon/thing I ever did without getting a run in this game was UW, and I can't even remember where that was at. When I did do it about 3 months ago because I wanted to see why everyone kept saying obvious fail PvE wasn't fail, I couldn't find a group. I ended up going to wiki and ran one extremely braveass Warrior/Heros build to solo the area. Needless to say it took me like 9 years because I'm bad at PvE, but I did complete it with the help of wiki, not gonna lie. I'm not sure if the build got nerfed or not but if you wanna try it out solo I can tell you that its possible without an SF sin, albeit more borig. And I can't say anything about grouping, I've never had a group in PvE besides the runner, ever. Nobody wanted me really. Do post back your finding on some of the tougher dungeons in the game because maybe one day I will attempt PvE and forgive past failures.

Post like this make me sad Pugging used to be semi-decent albeit I've had a few interesting groups. Hell, I never even had an issue with pugging THK and getting the bonus done. Guessing you started playing sometime after Nightfall came out? Heroes ruined the social aspect of this game, handy sure, but they came with a hefty price tag.

As for UW specifically I had a 55 monk so I never needed to pug it; just went with a guildie who ran Me/N and managed the SS job just fine. FoW on the other hand I've pugged successfully any number of times. Balanced works but non-casual players are all about speed and optimal builds

What's even funnier is that this update was supposed to put SF in its place, but instead wound up hurting 600/Smite the most.

Thanks for teh support, and I didn't start PvE until after Nightfall. I've never been interested in online team chess, but I decided to give it a go and pimp my warrior out and this further distasted me from playing PvE. It seems that they made most areas extremely difficult without specific builds and the fun of pugging was really ripped away due to them nerfing the area rather then the overpowered build, but thats just how I see the updates in the last 3 years.

Whats funny is a guild leader in my alliance has already created a build that we have finished in a little over an hour without practice and many, many, deaths. Just keep your panties out of a bunch, I'm sure 2 guilds have developed a new UWSC build, 1 being [DL], the next being an ally guild, which I won't divulge the name of to protect their privacy. Just wait for a release and ToA will be swarming again (ours is much more pug friendly, like the old FoWSC, only requires a few exp splitters like the old t1 and t2 (but maybe a few more or less), thats all I'm gonna say)

I find a bit more inexperienced (new) people to UW trying it out. Now's a really good time for getting into groups.

I've always wondered this but are the elite areas of the games the only things people really find worth doing ? I mean if it isn't UW, URGOZ, DOA, Ect. people seem to think oh well nothing to do if I can't do these areas. The funny part is the ppl I see that talk the most about these areas are the ones I also see yelling " I'm bored " or " GW sucks now ". There's a hell of a lot more content in the game then the elite areas so why get tunnel vision about these few places ? Yeah Yeah.. you'll build up cash and get some shiney objects but these ppl are honestly the least content of the GW community, I don't get it

Because after nearly five years, the elite areas are the only things that can still offer a challenge, and even that is questionable. Dungeons are always the same mobs, same route, same boss at the end. Vanquishing isn't a challenge once you find a decent build. Missions in Hard Mode - see vanquishing. What else is there after that if you toss the elite areas?

Pvp? Can you say interrupt bots, synching, and rank requirements. Random arenas can be semi-fun when you don't have 2-3 players leave because of no monk, or get on a team with 2-3 monks, or come up against the interrupt bots and synched teams.

Titles? Just grind that often requires you farm for either items or gold/ectos to buy items, which just brings ya back to elite areas.

Not sure what else you'd want to do after five years?

PvP is best served with a guild focused on competing in it.

Interrupt bots, while a problem and should be addressed, are not nearly as common as they have been in the past.

RA is completely unrepresentative of GvG. Your like or dislike of one arena will have no affect upon your like or dislike of the other.

Syncing is only a problem in the "random" styled arenas. These are low competition areas and not at all representative of GvG.

Only players with bad attitudes have ever suffered from rank discrimination. Players with bad attitudes weren't going to make it far into PvP anyway.
